Fastball Photography


Steve Leach is a sports and wildlife photographer based on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
This location allows for great access to great Sports and Wildlife subjects.
Photos have been seen on many local, national and international media outlets. These include CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, CNN, USA Today, National Geographic, BBC, UPI, AP, and many print media outlets including Cover Shot on Tampa Bay Times TBT.
Steve has won many online contests for both his sports and avian photography he also is an active moderator on several online critique groups, outdoors groups and acts as a guest judge on several others.

Available for Group Events, Private Shoots, Teaching Sessions as well as Wildlife Tours of Florida aand commissioned projects for media events, special subjects, publications and Gallery Events

Woman who Rode the Manatee : At Fort DeSoto Park in Florida, I was photographing wildlife all morning, as Fort DeSoto is one of the best places in Florida to take wildlife photos, many people visit. It is also one of the top beaches in the US for Tourists. While visiting the Gulf Pier near the Fort, I stopped for one of their great fresh squeezed lemonades. There were 3 manatee mating right off the beach. To my total shock This lady decided to go over and set on their back, followed quickly by flopping down on its back to ride it! With people screaming at her to stop, I was taking photos and screaming at her to stop. These photos were provided to the sheriffs office upon request to help catch her. The photos went viral. not only locally in the Tampa Bay area, but all major news agencies in the US and overseas seemed to run the story. I was contacted by local news stations, the Tampa Bay Times has written several articles to date on the event and also featured my point of view as well. I was contacted by news agencies once the word got out that I was the photographer who took the photos. If you are a non profit looking to use these or other photos I have posted or may have in my non posted galleries to help educate the public please feel free to link your site to these photos. If you would like to use them in print for educational posters, training or teaching please contact me as I am willing to donate to worthy causes.
